Gree R290 AC R&D Project Passed National Inspection
Recently, the Project of R&D High-efficient and Environmental-friendly Air Conditioner Adopting Natural Gas R290 (Propane) that undertaken by Gree Electric Appliances, where National Research Center for Energy-saving and Environment-friendly Refrigeration Equipments located, passed the inspection by experts from Chinese Household Electric Appliances Association (CHEAA). This R&D project was entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce.
Experts said, the success on development of R290 AC gave another exit to Chinese refrigerate industry, and it also contributed to the well development of Chinese economy and international trade.
This project gave solutions to key problems of charge volume of R290 refrigerant, safety of the product, energy, compressor, and manufacture process as well. When COP of the unit reaches 3.6, 15% more energy saving to R22 units, is exceeding A level of EU standard; and the charge volume less than 300g is also meeting EU safety standard.
Experts also pointed, R290 was the internationally accepted 100% environmental-friendly refrigerant for it won t destroy ozonosphere and cause no impact to world climate. The remarkable achievement Gree obtained gave a proof to the popularization of R290 AC, established a basic for its industrialization. What s more, it responded the policy of Chinese Energy Saving and Environmental Protection, and contributed to China s implementation to international environmental pact, ozonosphere protection, and greenhouse gas exhausting control. Additionally, it was important to push the healthy development of the refrigerate industry.
According to Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, refrigerant R22 will be completely forbidden by developed countries in 2020, and developing countries in 2030. Countries all over the world are substituting R22. Gree, as the only enterprise that possesses national engineering research center in Chinese refrigerate industry, is the R&D base and project base for Chinese energy-saving and environmental-friendly refrigeration equipments. Gree is dedicating to the promotion and development of energy-saving and environmental-friendly technology in Chinese refrigerate industry. Gree is undertaking several National 863 Science and Technology Projects and State Touch Projects. The plentiful fruits Gree achieved on the R&D of new heat exchanger on refrigerate equipment and inverter driven technology filled the gap in Chinese industry.
