On March 11, Gree hosted the Forum for Created in China and Consumer Rights in Beijing and announced in public their proposal for Created in China . Dong Mingzhu, CEO of Gree, mentioned that the company would not have any future if Created in China could not be realized.
In this proposal, one important responsibility of Created in China is to protect the people s livelihood by supplying better and greater consumer products and services. Independent innovation is the cornerstone for the concept of Created in China. Dong called on all enterprises to enhance the technology innovations, pursue environmental protection, energy conservation, low carbon emission, and sustainable development. She also advocated exploring corporate expansion and innovation with honesty and self-discipline in order to uphold the rights of consumers.
Made in China is world famous in the recent years. However, rarely are products and companies actually Created in China . The value between manufacturing and design is totally different for the industry as well as the nation. Dong, on this subject, mentioned that as a driving force behind the creativity of the nation, enterprises should take more social responsibility. The idea behind Gree s proposal of Road to Created in China is to call on more Chinese enterprises to join the forces of Created in China and ultimately accelerate the transformation of the domestic economy from the element-driven to innovation-driven model. Dong also mentioned that Gree invested RMB 2 billion (USD 294 million) in R&D annually to ensure Gree s leading position in product technology and innovation. With no real limits to R&D spending, Gree is determined to march forward towards Creativity for their professional air conditioning products.
At the forum, Gree also presented awards for over a dozen Witnesses of 15-years Quality from all over the country. From March 1 to 6, there were a total of 23.5 thousand customers registered for the activity who were best testifiers for the quality of Gree products.
