New Locomotive Driver and Passenger "Patron Saint" Awarded China Patent

Been widely used in nearly 1,000 domestic and foreign electric locomotives

Work voltage of electric locomotives is up to 25 kilovolts, even if the residual voltage after outage is also fatal, so the locomotive high-voltage safety interlock system has been known as ''Patron Saint'' for both the drivers and the passengers. On November 24, news came from CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. CSR Zhuji that the new ''locomotive high-voltage safety interlock system'', completely developed by the company, not only can provide a higher level of security protection to the drivers and passengers, but also has been awarded Chinese Patent Award of Excellence in the recently held 12^th meeting of China Patent Award.

According to CSR Zhuji Chief Engineer Yang Zhihua, compared to the widely used protect system around the world, this award-winning protection system has been upgraded from the original two levels of protection, key box and high-voltage interlocking, to four levels of key box, grounding switch, high-voltage gate lock and software control, with advantages of complete protection function, wide protection range, safety and reliability and intelligence, to more effectively to ensure the locomotive drivers, passengers, and maintenance personnel safety reaches the international advanced level.

Currently, the award-winning system has been widely used in electronic locomotives independently developed by CSR Zhuji for export to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and nearly 1,000 high-power electric locomotives in China.

China Patent Award is the highest award issued by the Chinese government in the field of patents. On November 13, the State Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization held the 12^th China Patent Awards award presentation ceremony in Beijing, and CSR Zhuji is one of two award-winning units from the locomotive system under the Ministry of Railways.

In recent years, CSR Zhuji has relied on the introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation platform, made great progress in the field of independent innovation, applied for more than 200 patent applications, including more than 40 patents in only three years, and is successfully transforming from a ''manufacturing'' to a ''creating'' type enterprise.
