100 thousand Midea employees mourned for three minutes silence of Wenchuan earthquake

To offer the deepest condolence to those who died in the recent Sichuan earthquake, 100 thousand Midea employees mourned for three minutes silence from 2:28 p.m. last Monday on May 19, 2008.
During the Mourning, some employees choked with sobs, while some wept in deep sorrow. In some offices, funeral music was heard; and in some others, life CCTV broadcasting on the national mourning was played. International A/C factory stopped its operation for 3 minutes, with lights turned off and one thousand employees mourning at assembly lines and offices. Employees from Purchasing Center mourned with their fixed line and mobile phones turned off. Compressor division organized its stuff to mourn at assembly and conference rooms.
At the same time, the whole nation was mourning for the victims from the Sichuan quake.
As requested by State council, Midea group had announced in 19th morning to fly National and factory flags at half mast during the three-day mourning period and all public entertainment activities will be cancelled.
