Midea's Brand Value Skyrockets to RMB 37.829 Billion

On December 5, the China's Most Valuable Brand Report 2007 was released. Midea ranks seventh place with the brand value of RMB 37.829 billion, up by RMB 6.6 billion over the last year.
The China's Most Valuable Brand Report 2007 reveals the values of 43 brands in total. Compared to the last year, each brand has seen a big value growth ?14% up on the average.
According to the Report, the brands in the sector of household electrical appliances and electronics, such as Haier, Lenovo and Midea, are the genuine industry leaders and key players. Their high-quality products and services as well as outstanding innovation capability fast boost the influence of China-made bands. It is also pointed out that over the past 10-plus years, hundreds of brands of household electrical appliances had decreased to several key players, and the industry has stepped from the low-level competition stage to the brand competition stage. As a result, the union of brands in the industry will be speeded up and the branding strategy will be highly considered.
The "Midea" brand has gained recognition in China after being fostered for years and its reputation and fame is now being built up. In the CCTV 2008 Golden Resource AD Public Bidding, Midea Group won the bidding for film ad package in CCTV 2008 Olympics and the time report ad in 2008 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, which together cost a price of RMB 111.71 million. Taking the advantage of the influence of important events like Olympics and Spring Festival Gala, the high-end brand image of Midea is substantially enhanced. Moreover, as required by the enterprise development strategy, Midea also speeds up its paces in oversea market expansion while making solid foundation in domestic market, and tries to build up an international brand on a systematic and well-planned basis.
