Midea Donates RMB 4.5 Million for Snow Disaster Relief

The snow disaster that hit the south China deeply concerns innumerable Chinese people and enterprises. In the afternoon on April 4, Liang Jieyin, the Chairman of the Labor Union of Midea Group, handed over an RMB 2-million donation cheque to Guangdong Province Charity Federation. The fund will be used for disaster relief and reconstruction, and meanwhile, it carries warmth to the people in the snow-stricken areas and our best wishes for them. So far, Midea Group has donated RMB 4.5 million in total, of which, RMB 1 million is donated at the base in Wuhu and 1 million in Hefei and RMB 0.5 million at the base in Wuhan.
Since early this winter, the abnormal weather worldwide has exposed 17 provinces and cities in south China to the most severe snowstorm of the last 50 years. The storm wreaked havoc on traffic and power grids in many areas, caused serious shortage in oil, water and coal supply, and led to gigantic backups of passengers who were heading for home for the Spring Festival. As the higher warning signals of snowstorm are issued, the people in the disaster areas are facing a grim challenge. However, the snowstorm can never stop human's love. People and enterprises from all over the country make their contribution to disaster relief in various ways.
