On 18th June, the press conference for 2009 Midea China Classic was held at the Royal-Orchid International Golf Club in Shunde, Guangdong. Midea announced that this event would be held at this Club from 15th to 18th, October, and this event would be included into the system of ONE ASIA Classic Series , for a total prize of US$500,000.00. At that time, 156 top golfers from the tournaments in Asian-Pacific region such as Australia, Korea and Japan as well as China will participate in this event. Dong Xiaohua, Director of the Brand Management Department of Midea Group, Xu Deli, Vice Chairman of the China Golf Association and Guangdong Golf Association, Yang Jie, Minister of the Sports Department No.4 in the Small-Ball Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports, Ben Sellenger, special commissioner of ONE Asia Classic Series , and famous Chinese professional golfers Zhang Lianwei and Liang Wenchong attended the press conference.
Midea s brand image improved by the golf international event
The finanicial crisis will be the history, and many strategic issues for the future development should be considered now. This year, ONE ASIA Classic Series , which is jointly organized by the China Golf Association, Japan Professional Golf Tournament Association, Korea Golf Association and Australia Professional Golf Association, is officially launched. This new tournament will include the Volvo China Open, Midea China Classic, and the postponed Huabin Beijing Open.
ONE ASIA Classic Series is a super tournament with coverage throughout the Asian-Pacific Region. Its purpose is to effectively promote the development of golf sports in the Asian-Pacific Region, improve the overall level of golf in this region, and change the status quo that no golf organization can fully represent the benefits of the golf associations and professional golfers in different countries in the Asian-Pacific Region.
