Beijing, China On January 12, 2011, the Chinese Household Appliance Association hosted the second Red Top Prize ceremony, and revealed 2010-2011 high-end appliance industry trends.
The awards were categorized into nine product lines, with a winner for each. Midea s Galaxy Floor-standing D180 inverter air conditioner was named the winner of the Red Top Award in the air-conditioner line.
The award s organizer, the Chinese Household Association (CHA),commissioned a strict procedure for selecting candidate products. CHA delivered a market research team to major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Dalian to collect consumer feedback. Following that step, a panel of experts contemplated the best amongst nominated products in each category. The Midea Galaxy floor-standing inverter air conditioner won the panel over with its innovative low -consumption, air-cooling mode.
At the ceremony, the association revealed consumer research on high-end household appliances. An increasing number of consumers were concerned with environmentally-friendly, low energy consumption and low-carbon features. However, brand reputation, advanced technology and excellent after-sales services were quickly gaining customer interest.
Demand for high-end air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, LCD TVs and other home appliances continue to rise amongst urban youth. The Red Top Prize win is a reflection that Midea is ready to evolve and adapt to changing needs in the marketplace, by continuing to provide quality products for both current and new consumers.
