From 5th to 6th December, the 2009 (8th) Chinese Enterprises Leaders Annual Meeting was held in Beijing. He Xiangjian, the board chairman of Midea Group, and Ma Weihua, the president of the China Merchants Bank were granted the lift-time achievement awards as the 25 Most Influential Enterprise Leaders of 2009 .
Since 2006 when the life-time achievement award was first granted to the 25 Most Influential Enterprise Leaders of 2009 , this award has been the highest honor for business people in the Chinese enterprise sector.
In addition, on 4th December, the result of the Appraisal for the Most Respectful Enterprises in China , which is jointly organized by the Peking University and the Economic Observation Newspaper, was announced. Total 26 enterprises including Midea Group and IBM, Phoenix TV, Huawei, stood out among 374 candidates, and were given the title of the Most Respectful Enterprises for the year of 2008-2009.
