In preparation for successful Olympic ticket sales during phase one (follow-ups) and phase two, a 2nd training session on Olympic ticket sales was jointly administered by various departments at the Bank s Zhong an Training Centre, Beijing from July 30 to Aug. 1 and from Aug.3 to Aug.5. A total of 164 trainees from branches all over the country received the training. At the opening ceremony, Mr. XU Chen, General Manager of Olympic Affairs Department and Mr. YAO Hua, Deputy General Manager of Personal Banking Department delivered keynote speeches.
During the session, BOCOG Ticketing Centre and its exclusive ticketing service provider Beijing Gehua Ticketmaster Ticketing Co. Ltd. briefed on ticketing policies for phase two and demonstrated the application of Beijing 2008 Olympic ticketing - WPS system (Web Point-Of-Sale Tool) at BOC ticketing outlets.
Personal Banking Department detailed the operational procedure of batch payment process and real-time ticket sales, as well as the supervisory regulation governing the Olympic ticketing business. Bank Card Centre briefly explained procedures of payment via POS terminals at BOC outlets, and settlement of card transactions.
Banking Department introduced the procedure of collecting and centralizing Olympic ticket sales proceeds. Besides, it defined method and procedure of reconciliation at different levels and laid down responsibilities for concerning parties. The Software Centre introduced, from a technical perspective, the detailed flow of the ticketing transaction in the Bank, and raised relevant maintenance requirement to the branches.
The trainees learned hard and actively participated in discussion. They raised questions and exchanged ideas on the problems they faced during phase one and their daily practices, giving valuable suggestions on the work for phase two.
Phase two of Beijing 2008 Olympic ticket sales will start in October 2007 and will last until January 2008. Customers may purchase tickets through BOCOG s official ticketing website, BOC designated outlets or the official ticketing call centre. For all the purchases, payments can be made with cash, Visa card or BOC current account.
