The certificate award ceremony of CAS Visiting Professorships for Senior International Scientists was held at the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), CAS on June 18.
Mr. XIE Ming, the vice director of IMP, on behalf of CAS, presented the certificate of CAS Visiting Professorship to Prof. Yuri A. Litvinov, who comes from Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Germany. XIE gave a brief introduction of Prof. Litvinov s academic background, the cooperation between Prof. Litvinov and IMP, as well as the Visiting Professorships Program of CAS. He also put forward suggestions for further collaboration. Prof. Litvinov expressed his determination and expectation for the fruitful cooperation on the research work in the future.
Thereafter, Prof. Litvinov gave a talk on Recent Results from Experiments at the ESR . A series of discussions were made on data analysis of mass measurements at CSRe, new detector development, new proposals of experiment at CSRe, further collaboration and exchange, and future perspectives for new facilities, etc.
Being a young scientist in nuclear physics, Prof. Litvinov achieved the IUPAP (International Union of Pure and Applied Physics) Young Scientist Prizein Nuclear Physics in 2007. He is also the referee of international Journals Physical Review C, Physical Review Letters, etc.
