Mei Kebao Meets with CEO of Kerry Group Kuok Foundation

Deputy Secretary Mei Kebao met in Changsha with Chief Executive Officer of Kerry Group Kuok Foundation David Pang on the afternoon of March 2.

Kuok s Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization. It has now set up about 10 poverty alleviation bases in many provinces such as Hunan and Sichuan. David Pang is a native of Baojing County, Hunan Province, and so the first base was built right in Baojing. It has been nearly four years since its foundation.

Mei Kebao welcomed David Pang to return to the hometown and expressed that the government departments at all levels will create a favorable environment for the foundation and join hands to explore the sustainable mode of helping the poor and provide strong support to the economic development and the prosperity of the people in poverty-stricken areas.

David Pang said the achievements Hunan has made in social and economic development in recent years are quite exciting and the changes his hometown has witnessed is so encouraging. Kuok s Foundation will try its best to do more practical things for the Hunan people in such aspects as hygiene, education, industrial development and the development and utilization of water resources.
