The renovation project of Changsha Municipal Museum is scheduled to be accomplished this mid-June, relevant sources of the municipal museum told the reporter on Feb.25. By then, the corridor of steles on the calligraphic art of Chairman Mao Zedong s poems and couplets will become more conspicuous through the transparent enclosing wall. As a museum of modern and contemporary history, the architectural style of the reconstructed museum will be more harmonious.
As requested by the Changsha Municipal People s Government, the former antique marketplace at Qingshuitang Street will be removed to the southern square of Changsha Bamboo and Wooden Slips Museum. The relocation work will be carried out in phases. The first batch of 45 stores will move to the new location by the end of this April.
