Titanium Resources Group says rutile production was up 96.8% in the final quarter of 2009 compared with Q3, contributing 21,514 tonnes to an annual figure of 63,864 tonnes which was broadly in line with company estimates.
The company also produced 15,161 tonnes of ilmenite and 8,501 tonnes of zircon concentrate in the year to December 31.
TRG said price increases of 4-6% had been achieved for the majority of its confirmed shipments of 2010 production.
The company confirmed the appointment of Neil Gawthorpe as its new marketing director.
In the last quarter, TRG took advantage of depressed prices for mining equipment to purchase a new IMS Versi-Dredge for $1.1m, financed from existing cash flows. It will reduce the impact of problems at the Lanti South Pond which affected production volumes during the year.
Developments associated with the $25m placing in November - Dredge D3, upgrades to the wet plant and land plant - were continuing.
