Sunday running to start Hangzhou International Marathon

According to the Organizing Committee of Hangzhou International Marathon, 2010 Hangzhou International Marathon will kick off at Huanglong Sports Center at 8 on the morning of 7, November.

Initiated in 1987, Hangzhou International Marathon is a joint event of the original West Lake Osmanthus International Marathon and Hangzhou West Lake Friendly International Marathon. This year s Marathon marked its 24th anniversary. Besides standard full marathon (42.195 km) and half marathon (21.0975 km), such events as short marathon (13.8 km), mini marathon (6.8 km), lovers race (3.5 km) and family race (1.2 km) will be staged this year.

Long Jiangjie, Director of Contest Center of Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau said: This year, Hangzhou International Marathon will uphold the two themes of low carbon life and public fitness, combining them with the feature of Zhejiang s leisure travel and conducting interactions among people along the course. Apart from these, at the main scenic spots or landmark buildings, pictures will be taken for the runners. All earnings from these pictures will go to charity.
