Zhejiang to build 9 foreign universities

The reporters have learned from the Zhejiang Higher Education Internationalization Work Conference, held in Hangzhou, that by the year of 2015, Zhejiang will have built 7 or more Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run higher education institutes (including the non-independent secondary colleges), 2 or 3 of which will be high-level universities and 5-8 secondary colleges. By 2020, the total number of such schools will have risen to over 10.

According to the Zhejiang Province Development Plan for Internationalization of Higher Education (2010-2020), issued by the provincial Department of Education, the number of Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run programs will have risen to 200 by 2015, including 5 doctoral programs, 20 master s programs, 40 bachelor s programs, 110 offering junior-college-level education and 25 offering non-curricula education.
