LED packager Unity Opto Technology is expected to see its revenues bounce back to its previous high of NT$700 million(US$23.75 million) in March 2011 and first-quarter revenues grow 5-10% sequentially to NT$1.78 billion, according to industry sources.
Shipments of backlit products for LED TVs and the company's strong deployment in Japan and Korea will help drive its revenue growth this year, commented the sources.
Unity Opto also revealed that its shipments to Japan will expand substantially starting April/May as it has been asked by clients to prepare needed parts and components for the lighting market in Japan after the March 11 earthquake.
Sales of LED TV backlight products are expected to account for 30-35% of Unity Opto's total revenues in 2011 compared to 24% in 2010, while the ratio for those used in notebook and tablet PC applications will edge up to 15% from 14% during the same period, the company said.
For all of 2011, Unity Opto is expected to see its revenues soar 45-55% to NT$9.8-10.5 billion, according to the sources.
