Opening Up With New Concept

After the inspection in Inner Mongolia, which is similar to XJ in location, many members of XJ Party and government delegation started to make comparison on the two regions' advantages, find out the gap and put forward that, changing concept is the primary task at present.

After learning the experience of Inner Mongolia, Wu Xian, secretary of XJ Foreign (Overseas Chinese )Affairs Office holds that, enhancing exchange on economy and trade, and mutual trust can promote XJ's opening up.

WU XIAN, SECRETARY XJ FOREIGN AFFAIRS OFFICE:

"In the coming 5 to 10 years, XJ will newly open a batch of land ports, oil pipes and frontier trade markets. It will further XJ's opening up, and help the region form tridimensional transport network."

XJ's opening up level has been upgraded in the 1st three quarters this year. Its import and export trade volume reached 11.27 billion USD, a rise of 15.3%. He Yiming, director of the Department of Commerce of XJ believes that, such a rapid increase is by large attributed to expo economy.

HE YIMING, DIRECTOR DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE OF XJ:

"We plan to promote one influential trade fair in each of our neighboring countries, make our local entrepreneurs emancipate mind, and upgrade the opening up level of XJ. "
