XJ's Foreign Trade Volume Increases
Now XJ has 17 category-A ports. Supported by all sectors, XJ's foreign trade kept rapid development momentum in 2010. The total import and export trade volume reached about 17.13 billion USD, a rise of 23.9 percent compared with the same period of 2009.
The business at Baktu Port, which located in Tacheng City, is in brisk after Spring Festival holiday. It is learned that half of XJ, China's vegetables are exported to Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries through Baktu Port. The imported and exported vegetables and fruits from the Port reached 58,000 tons in 2010, valuing 32.44 million USD.
The frontier petty-sum trade also develops rapidly in XJ. Its volume reached over 10.04 billion USD last year, making up 58.62 percent of XJ's total trade volume.
