On the evening of April 20, Li Xiaodong, vice chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with Zhang Meihua, former vice premier of Vietnam and her fellows in Xi an.
Li Xiaodong firstly welcomed the visiting guests on behalf of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee and the Shaanxi Provincial People s Government. He said that since reform and opening up, economy of Shaanxi has developed rapidly, and has maintained the double-digit growth for more than 10 years consecutively.
North Shaanxi boasts rich mineral resources such as coal, oil and natural gas, and is the energy continuous place of China. Guanzhong Plain enjoys the name of 800-lin Qinchuan where agriculture is developed. South Shaanxi has rich natural resources and is the important water source place of China.
Shaanxi boasts powerful scientific education strengths, and is an important base of aviation industry of China. Electronic industry, machinery industry, logistics industry and software industry in Shaanxi are all well developed. Li Xiaodong hoped that the visiting guests could know more about Shaanxi and offer valuable suggestions on work of Shaanxi.
Zhang Meihua extended the thanks to hospitality of Shaanxi Province, and expressed admiration to achievements made by Shaanxi in all sectors. Year 2010 is the 60th anniversary for establishment of Sino-Vietnam diplomatic relationships, and also the Sino-Vietnam Friendship Year. He hoped that both sides could organize more delegations to visit each other, enhance the exchanges and cooperation in all aspects and promote co-development of both sides.
