Jing Junhai, vice-governor of Shaanxi province met with visiting Taiwan Delegation for Mainland Hi-tech Industrial Zones headed by Jack Chang, deputy general director of Industrial Economics & Knowledge Center (IEK) under Industrial Technology Research Institute in Shangri-La Hotel in Xi an in the evening of November 1.
Vice-governor Jing Junhai firstly introduced the basic information of Shaanxi province to the guests. Shaanxi enjoys apparent geological advantages and boasts abundant resources, strong scientific and educational strength as well as stable industrial foundation, said Jing. Since the reform and opening-up, infrastructure facilities including highways, railways and airports have been greatly improved, which together with geological location lay a sound foundation for the development of logistics industry.
At present, Shaanxi is entering a stage of rapid development. Xi an High-Tech Industries Development Zone is leading the science &technology development of Shaanxi province. A lot of enterprises in the development zone are engaged in high-tech industries and endowed with strong technical strength. The development zone pays great attention to the organization and mechanism construction and has stipulated over 30 relevant policies, making it a pioneer in such areas as innovation, mechanism, technology, and industry all over the country.
The further development of the zone in culture, processing and manufacturing industries rely on a series of new growth poles. Jing hoped the delegation introduce Xi an High-Tech Industries Development Zone to Taiwan enterprises and encourage them to invest in Shaanxi, which will definitely enhance the Cross-Straits exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan enterprises and their mainland counterparts.
Jack Chang introduced relevant information concerning the start-ups, innovation and development of high-tech enterprises in Taiwan and put forward suggestions on such issues as promotion of scientific cooperation between the two sides and joint construction of a research &development center.
