The Press Conference of Protection of IPR concerning Guangzhou Asian Games is held on November the 30th in the news center of Guangzhou Municipality. It is reported that the IPR administrative departments have been taking active measures to convoy the success of Guangzhou Asian Games by encouraging the creation of IPR of Guangzhou Asian Games, establishing powerful IPR protection system, creating legal environment beneficial to IPR protection of Guangzhou Asian Games, and have achieved prominent effects.
As introduced by Mr. Zhu Wanchang, Deputy Director-general of Guangdong Intellectual Property Office, in recent years, relative administrative departments of state province and municipality have unveiled a series of governmental regulations and administrative documents focusing on the protection of IPR of Asian Games and have established the coordinative system on protection of IPRs of Guangzhou Asian Games at both the provincial and the municipal level, forming a protection net with Guangzhou being the center, Guangdong province being the key while other regions cooperating and administrative departments taking their responsibilities to strengthen inter-region inter-department cooperation.
This has provided proactive three-dimensional protection to the IPRs of Guangzhou Asian Games and acts as a strong guarantee for the smooth successful holding of Guangzhou Asian Games and Asian Paralympics Games.
According to Mr. Zhu Wanchang, IPR protection of Guangzhou Asian Games has provided a great opportunity for the IPR cause of Guangdong Province and also a checkout for the capability of the IPR creation utilization protection and management. In recent years, the amount of independent IPRs of Guangdong province has been increasing continuously, a series of breakthroughs have been made in the IPR legislation, great achievements have been gained in the IPR enforcement, judicial and criminal protection of IPRs and the IPR protection system has been continuously perfected, with the IPR atmosphere getting improved, which has provided strong support for the construction of Guangdong province into a power province on IPR and a driver for the transformation economic development methodology.
Mr. Zhu specially introduces the carry out of the special action combating the IPR infringement activities of Guangdong province at the press conference. According to him, the state department has held a meeting for the standing committee on October the 19th in 2010 and decided to carry out the special action combating IPR infringement and manufacturing/selling of counterfeited good.
On November the 5th, Premier Wen Jiabao delivered an important speech at the telephone/TV conference and deployed the special action. The CCCPC of Guangdong and the People's Government of Guangdong Province pay high attention to the special action and Governor Huang Huahua hosted a telephone/TV conference on the protection & enforcement of IPR OF Guangdong province and deployed the carrying out of the special action.
The leading group of the special action combating IPR infringement cases and manufacturing/selling counterweighted commodities and the plan for the whole action is also formulated. Municipalities of Guangdong province have all formed leading groups and start to take actions.
Represents from Administrations of Industry and Commerce of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Copyright Bureau and Guangdong Customs have also made their show at the press conference and answered relative questions.
