2011 Guangzhou Travel Fair to be inaugurated on March 24

The Annual Guangzhou International Travel Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Guangzhou Travel Fair) will be held in Guangzhou Jin Han Exhibition Center between March 24 and 26.

As one of the most important international travel fairs of the Asia-Pacific region, the 19th Guangzhou Travel Fair will be presenting to international and domestic visitors a magnificent tourism "carnival". This year it is expected to attract some 500 exhibitors, with an exhibition area amounting to 15,000 square meters. During the first two days, the fair will be open only to visitors who have professional experience in the tourism sector. On the third day, the fair will be open to the general public.

For the first time, theme exhibition sections will be set up in the fair, including a business tourism section (MICE), a hotel exhibition section (The World of Hotel), an aviation exhibition section (Above the Air), an exhibition section of extravagant RV (recreational vehicles), a self-driving travel section, a leisure real estate section and a section of travel equipments and articles.

Many groups of international exhibitors will participate in the travel fair this year, which will further enhance its worldwide reputation.. International exhibitors are expected to account for 46% of the total number of exhibition stands on show. Among them, tourism administrations from Hungary, Israel, and Mexico and the Ethiopian Airline are first-time participants.

The fair has received tremendous support from the tourism organizations of South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Turkey, Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates. As the platinum sponsor of the fair, the Emirates Airline will increase its investment in the 2011 fair.

The domestic exhibition area will consist of four sections. Namely, those of "The Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Rail", "A New Guangzhou in the Post-Asian-Games Era", "World Cultural and Natural Heritages in China" and the "Red Tour". In the "Red Tour" section headed by Zhongshan Tourism Bureau, a special activity will be held to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Revolution of 1911.
