Tourists in China reached 254 million during the National Day Holiday, an increase of 27.1% from the same period last year. Each tourist spent an average of 459 yuan during the week.
It is estimated that of the 254 million tourists, 59.8 million people stayed at a hotel or hostel for the night, 27.9% up year-on-year and 195 million were one-day tourists, 26.9% up year-on-year. 52 billion yuan, tourism revenue in 39 key tourism cities 47.3 billion yuan and that in other tourism cities or attractions 61.2 billion yuan. The 172 monitored commercial businesses in 39 key tourism cities realized a sales income of 11.55 billion yuan, up 19 percent from the same period last year and the 169 monitored restaurants an operating revenue of 444 million yuan, up 14 percent.
