Nearly 80 chairmen, secretary-generals and companions of the Olympic Committees and the Federations of Individual Events from different countries and regions who went to Guangzhou for the Asian Games joined in the Asian Games Client Activities yesterday afternoon. They ascended Guangzhou Tower, the highest sightseeing tower in the world, to overlook the whole city, and then took Pearl River Night Tour to appreciate the brilliant night scene.
Deeply enchanted and affected by the modernization of Guangzhou and the passion of the Asian Games volunteers, the distinguished guests exalted the atmosphere and enthusiasm of Guangzhou. They expressed their wish to introduce the beautiful city to their friends after returning to their counties.
Eight activities will be launched for distinguished guests during the Asian Games, involving such fields as history, culture, economy, religion, folk customs, etc. Focusing on the distinctive features of Guangzhou, these activities integrate urban traditions with modern elements, and have received positive support and warm acclaim from distinguished guests.
