Shenzhen government last week donated 2 million RMB (295,400 USD) to Zhouqu county in the northwestern Gansu Province, after the region was devastated by rain-triggered mudslides earlier this month.
"The city government of Shenzhen has been raising money and relief goods for people affected by the disaster," said Wang Rong, General Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
At least 127 people are confirmed dead and nearly 2,000 others are still missing after the landslides, which hit Zhouqu County of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, said the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Zhouqu County covers 3,010 square km and has a population of 134,700, about 33 percent of which are Tibetans. It is located in the southeast of the prefecture, the seat of which is about 276 km away from Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu.
