Boosted by rising pork prices, storms and a lingering heat wave, Guangdong's CPI saw a 3.3 percent year-on year increase in July. During the first seven months of 2010, the CPI rose 2.7 percent, 0.1 percentage points higher than the January-June figure, according to the NBS Guangdong Research Team.
Food and housing prices jumped 6.2 percent and 4.9 percent respectively, the total of which accounts for 88 percent in the general rise of July's CPI. The PPI in July increased 2.9 percent year-on -year, 0.6 percentage points lower than June, according to official statistics.
