Zhong Yangsheng, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangdong Province, met with a visiting council delegation headed by Ono Mineo from Niigata Prefecture in Guangzhou on September 2. Zhong extended a warm welcome to Ono Mineo encouraging both sides to continue an economic growth mode transformation. Zhong said that both sides have enjoyed close cooperation since the establishment of friendly relation between the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangdong Province and Niigata Council in 1997. Ono Mineo said he was amazed by the social and economic development of Guangdong and added that Guangdong is the indicator of Chinese economic development. Ono said there have been 29 Niigata business enterprises in Guangdong province in 2009.
