Although the 108th Guangzhou Import and Export Fair, contains 57,136 stands, nearly 221 more than last session, organizers raised the rental fee to ensure that low-value-added exporters don't dominate the fair. As a result many less competitive exporters have to be phased out of the fair.

Compared to the last session, the number of exhibitors from home and abroad totals 23,599, an increase of 240. The first session will be held between October15-19. Household electrical appliances, machinery, hardware and building materials will be exhibited in this session.

Exporters face harder times with increased labor costs and the appreciation of the RMB. Many exporters have complained that profits are being eaten away by the appreciation and that anticipation is on the upward movement as the yuan has made buyers hesitant to take international orders.

Chinese exporters are also impacted by international trade barriers. In 2009, China s export value accounting for 9.6 percent of the world total but China also faces 40 percent of the world s anti-dumpling and anti-subsidies probes.
