On October 13, the first Asian Games City Volunteer Station in Huangpu District, the New Life Posthouse, officially opened in Linghao Square.
A total of ten fixed New Life Posthouses will be in operation before the Asian Games in this district and will be located within the boundaries of the Dasha Di and Huangpu eastern business zones.
At these sites, about 600 volunteers from local universities will provide services including guidance for citizens and tourists, maintenance of traffic order, translation, information inquiry, emergency response, maintaining stability and monitoring.
More than 500 New Life Posthouses will be established in Guangzhou. Fixed building service stations, located at key intersections, squares and cultural scenic spots will consist of single concrete huts that are of a classic Guangzhou architecture style. There are already 100 stations of this kind in existence.
The second type is a simple service station, mainly providing services in the vicinity of competition venues, hotel, transport stations, scenic spots, and business zones. These 200 stations are single mobile tents which can be opened and closed.
The third type of service stations will be located in shopping malls, scenic spots, transport stations and hotels.
All 500 City Volunteer Service Stations are planned to be in full operation prior to the start of the Asian Games. After the Games, these service stations may be permanently fixtures for future volunteer resources.
