Construction on the Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Center began with groundbreaking ceremony on June 26. Upon its completion in late 2011, the center will become China's most sophisticated exhibition hall for urban planning.

The project is located in the Baiyun New Town, bordering the Baiyun International Conference Center to the east. It has a site area of 32,523 square meters and will have a floor area of 84,000 square meters.

The exhibition center is set to be the largest of its kind in China with the most comprehensive range of facilities. It will provide exhibition, public involvement, academic exchange, archive, and technical support services.
