Yesterday (August 1), the price of LPG fuel dropped 11.57% from 4.05 RMB to 3.63 RMB per liter. LPG fuel is used by most of Guangzhou's taxis and buses and therefore the drop in price has led the government to bring down the taxi fuel surcharge.
The additional fuel surcharge went up from 1 to 1,5 RMB on June 20. However, shortly afterward the price of LPG dropped significantly forcing the Guangzhou Price Control Bureau to re-adjust the fuel surcharge.
Guangdong standard IV enters market
The Guangdong standard IV fuel for vehicles went on sale in Guangzhou gas stations yesterday (August 1). The Guangdong standard IV fuel costs about 0.15 RMB more per liter compared with the National standard III fuel, cited by some local media. The price for No. 93 and 97 should average 6.61 and 7.16 RMB per liter respectively.
