Shenzhen Special Day held at Expo

Shenzhen Special Day took over the World Expo in Shanghai on Thursday (July 29), attracting thousands of visitors.

Shenzhen was one of 46 cities from around the world to be invited by the World Expo to stage a special daylong event.

Featuring a series of performances including singing, dancing, magic shows, martial arts and opera, the event was aimed at showing the world the young, modern, multi-dimensional elements that make the city what it is, Shenzhen Mayor Xu Qin said at a ceremony at the Baogang Stage.

More than 400 artists from Shenzhen gave performances, including the Shenzhen Orchestra, Shenzhen Senior High School students and Shenzhen Daweiwu Dance Troupe.
