About five hundred local residents from Fenggang Township of Dongguan on August 15 voluntarily gathered to mourn the victims of the tragic landslide at Zhouqu city in Gansu Province.

At 7 p.m. of August 15, five hundred residents from Fenggang began to gather at Fenggang Sports and Cultural Square. Surrounding the candles, they bowed their heads and clasped hands in silence for 3 minutes to mourn the lost lives and pray for the living in Zhouqu. Songs, "The dedication of love", "grateful heart" and "a family in love", were also sung as a part of the mourning.

The devastating mudslide which hit Zhouqu County, in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province, on August 7 this year has brought misery to the place. At least 1,248 people have died and 496 are currently listed as missing.
