Work on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai inter-city railway line is advancing and the first track was laid on Aug 11. The railway is designed to run at speed of up to 200 kilometers per hour. The main route is about 115 kilometers long, whilst the branch line between Zhongshan and Jiangmen is about 26 kilometers.
