The Guangdong Government has issued an official unification scheme for the PRD, which sets out several goals to be attained by 2012 and 2020. A total of 150 major projects involving almost 2 trillion RMB have been set forth. It requires that by January 2012, the fee for long distance calls between Guangzhou and Foshan shall be canceled and that telephone fees amongst all PRD cities shall be unified.
