In order to ensure good air quality during the Asian Games, Guangzhou will adopt a series of measures to limit the number of vehicles running on the roads from Oct 12 to Dec 22. During that period, cars without an environmentally-friendly label on them as well as those that run on heavily polluting gas will be banned from the roads. Together with the even-odd number vehicle limitation will be in place, the municipal environmental protection bureau predicts that 745,000 fewer vehicles will be running in Guangzhou.
