An official with the Municipal Government revealed before the coming of the Asian Games, the first electric bus line in Guangzhou, with 26 electric buses will be in service shortly. They will operate between Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall to Guangzhou, and through to Guangzhou University town. The specific stations on the line and bus number will be published as soon as they are settled.
Sources said 140 new-energy buses including 26 electric buses and 114 hybrid buses will operate on the bus line for the Asian Games by the end of next month. The electric buses will pass throug as express buses through Keyun Road, Huangpu Road, Tiyu West Road, Tianhe Road, Dongfeng East Road, Dongfeng Middle Road, etc.
In addition, 500 barrier-free buses and 100 barrier-free taxies will soon be put into use, some of which will make their debut on road by the end of this month.
