Shenzhen will experience fine weather during the National Day holidays.
Temperatures will fall by 2 degrees to 24-30 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday under the influence of a weak cold front from the north, the city s meteorological observatory said yesterday.
There will be occasional scattered showers but most days will be cloudy with sunny periods.
Fine weather is expected in Guangdong Province but there will be strong winds, plunging temperatures and rain in northern parts of the country.
There will be heavy rain in Northeast China, where a cold front will cause temperatures to plunge by 10-12 degrees Celsius. Sichuan and Guizhou can expect torrential rain with strong winds, the observatory said.
Shenzhen traffic police have advised motorists to avoid sections of Beihuan Road, which is undergoing roadworks.
During the holidays, the Beihuan Road section between Xinzhou Flyover and Yinhu Flyover (northern side), and the section between Xianghuan Flyover and Shenyun Flyover (northern side) will be resurfaced.
Motorists traveling to eastern cities in Guangdong are being advised to take the Eastern Coastal Expressway and Shenhui Expressway to avoid OCT East and the beaches. They can also take the Jihe-Huiyan-Shenshan expressways. Motorists should avoid traveling at peak hours between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the eve of Oct. 1, the first day of the holidays.
Some expressway sections such as Guangzhou-Foshan, Foshan-Kaiping and Guangzhou-Zhaoqing are under repair and police suggest drivers avoid these expressways.
