Scheherazade - Rimsky-Korsakov but Not Only, a concert to pay honor to the 16th Asian Games, will be performed in Guangzhou Opera House on Monday Night (November 15). The concert is produced by Melody for Dialogue among Civilizations Association and organised by Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC). Over 60 outstanding artists, musicians and dancers from 25 countries and regions will participate in the concert.
The concert, with a new position by Philippe Rombi (France), will be performed by Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Richard Boudharam, and traditional musicians from 25 countries and regions, directed by Maestro Igor Vlajnic (Croatia). Hyun Su Shin (South Korean) will play the violin solo, and Sahar Dehghan and Sharokh Ghalam (Iran) will lead the dance.
As Scheherazaderoots in cultures of Asian countries, the concert consists of songs and dances from Asian countries with vivid national character. It's just like a conversation between traditional muscians and classical muscians, and it will show us the great traditions and cultural heritage of Asian countries. It will end up with Hymn for Harmony composed by Philippe Rombi (France), as a gift to Guangzhou Asian Games.
