The Asian Games Volunteer Service Open Day named "Asian Games, Our City and I" was co-hosted by the Volunteers Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) and the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) at the Chen Clan Academy Square in Guangzhou on Sunday (November 21).
Liu Ping, Vice Chairman of Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huanqing, Director of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the CYLC and Director of the Volunteers Department of GAGOC, An Jianguo, Deputy Director of the Volunteers Department of GAGOC and Deputy Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the CYLC, and Ren Hutang, Vice Chairman of the Liwan District CPPCC Committee attended the ceremony with other officials.
Representatives of the Asian Games Volunteer Care Group send Volunteer Care Cards to the Asiad volunteers.
Recently, an Asian Games Volunteer Care Group was set up spontaneously by citizens, officials, teachers and students. Some Representatives attended the Asian Games Volunteer Service Open Day ceremony on Sunday and received Volunteer Care Cards from Mr Ren Hutang, Vice Chairman of Liwan District CPPCC Committee.
These representatives all spoke highly of the Asian Games volunteers. They extended their thanks to the volunteers and gave their services very high marks through a satisfaction questionnaire, which says over 90 per cent of Guangzhou residents are satisfied with the volunteers.
"The volunteers are always working very hard, they stick to their posts with no complaint. We should thank them because they deserve it," said Ms Mai, a 69-year-old retired lady and the leader of the Asian Games Volunteer Care Group.
