Guangzhou's first electric automatic bus line has been put into operation. Twenty-six electric buses of Line 801 have been put into use. These buses depart from Guangdong Science Center in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center and are bound for Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. Tianhe Sports Center, Teem Plaza and the other commercial zones are covered by the bus line.
It only costs citizens 4 Yuan to experience "green" travel. With this bus line put into operation, Guangzhou has thus joined Beijing and Shanghai to become a Chinese city with such environmentally-friendly means of public transport.
However, given that the circuit race of the Asian Games is to be held on Nov. 19th, Nov. 20th, Nov. 22nd and 23rd, in the Guangzhou Higher Educational Mega Center, traffic regulations are to be imposed on those roads sections involved in the competition. Hence due to the traffic regulations and restrictions imposed on those days, the electric buses will have to make a detour around those restricted sections and three stops, namely, the North Commercial District, the Central Hub and Guangdong Science Center will be temporarily cancelled.
The terminal on those days will be changed for those days to the Guangdong University of Technology -the campus grounds in the Guangzhou Higher Educational Mega Center.
