The Dragon Boat races of the 16th Asian Games ended on Saturday (November 20) at Zengcheng Dragon Boat Lake, with China winning three gold medals in Women's events. The Asian Dragon Boat Federation (ADBF) hailed the venue facilities as well as the organisation and services during the competitions, awarding two plaques to the city of Zengcheng, which say "Outstanding Organisation, First-Class Competition" and "Inaugurating the New Era, Creating the Splendid Future Jointly" respectively.

With the sincerity, hospitality and wisdom of local authorities and residents, the Asiad Dragon Boat races concluded with success in Zengcheng, said Hu Jianguo, Secretary General of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and Director of the Chinese Leisure Sports Administrative Centre of the General Administration of Sport of China. Also he said that the pretty Zengcheng and the appealing Dragon Boat races will be an unforgettable memory to the Asian Dragon Boat circles.

The Asian Games Dragon Boat races were held from November 18 to 20. The perfect facilities, gorgeous surroundings and great services at Zengcheng Dragon Boat Lake won the recognition of all sides. Yu Hanqiao, Secretary General of Chinese Dragon Boat Association said, "It will be one of the best Dragon Boat competition venues in China." Meanwhile, he revealed that local authorities in Zengcheng attach much importance to the utilisation of the venue after the Games.
Zengcheng is a county-level city in the east of Guangzhou.
