The Asian Games Town will be transformed into a living community in the post-Asian-Games era. It is reported that relevant planning departments have already taken note of the Montreal Trap that plagued many host cities of international sports events in the past. The Montreal Trap is a popular term describing poor management of Olympic venues. With lessons drawn from other host cities, relevant departments have charted an early plan concerning the use of Asian Games venues.

According to the plan, thirteen out of seventeen competition venues will be put under restructuring in the post-Asian-Games era, while three will be kept as competition venues for future sports events. The make-shift media center will be torn down. Seventy-six percent of facilities in the Asian Games Town will be restructured. After the restructuring, the entire area will be integrated with the Lotus Mountain to become a new scenic spot that showcases the cultural heritage of the Games.
