He revealed that the Hong Kong Jockey Club will invest heavily to carry out a large-scale redevelopment of the Guangzhou Equestrian Venue, which is scheduled to be put into operation in 2014, and that the existing 1300 famous horses in Hong Kong will take turns to come here for training and vacationing in due course.
The Equestrian Venue for the Games, with a cost of RMB 700 million, was designed and invested by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which dispatched over 100 technicians and provided the technical support in terms of venue construction, sports equipment, horse management and horse transportation, etc., the requirements of which were identical to the Olympic Games. And so at the end of the Asian Games, the Hong Kong Jockey Club has won the right of renting the Equestrian Venue for 50 years.
