On the evening of Dec. 31st, the Guangzhou Tower will co-organize with Guangzhou Radio and Television, a New Year countdown carnival called "Prosperous Guangzhou, a Better Tomorrow". On that evening the tour time will end at 9:00 pm and an evening gala will be staged in the outdoor platform on the second floor. When midnight comes near, the most captivating countdown of Guangzhou will be witnessed at the Guangzhou Tower.
Statistics show that Guangzhou Tower has received a total of 700,000 visitors since Oct. 1st when the tower was officially opened to the public. Each day, more than 10,000 visitors come to the tower. In addition, 150,000 free tickets were given out to the public as Asian Games gifts. As a result, the number of visitors has already been larger than expected.
From Jan. 1st, 2011 on, the opening time of the tower will be extended by two hours, from 8:00 am to 23:00. In the meanwhile, a host of commercial and entertainment facilities will be put into use successively, including the top touring ball-shaped compartment and speedy basket elevators.
