Southern Airlines has announced a plan to provide 80 additional flights and 10 additional chartered flights during the Lunar New Year holidays to accommodate the rising number of mainland tourists to Taiwan and the influx of Taiwanese residents on home visits to the mainland.
At present, Southern Airlines operates flights to Taipei from Guangzhou, Shanghai, Dalian, Shenyang, Zhengzhou, Changsha, Harbin, Shenzhen, Changchun, Wuhan, Guiling, Guiyang, and Nanjing. To accommodate the surge in Taiwan-bound passenger numbers, Southern Airlines will provide 80 more flights to between Taipei and Guangzhou, Wuhan, Dalian, Shenyang, Nanning, Zhengzhou, and Shenzhen from January 18 to February 22.
There will be 26 more flights between Wuhan and Taipei, 18 more between Shenzhen and Taipei, 12 more between Guangzhou and Taipei, eight more between Dalian and Nanning, and four more between Zhengzhou and Shenyang.
