Officials from the Guangzhou Nanshan Development Zone Administrative Committee and the Nansha District Government hosted a seminar on January 20 in Macao to promote the CEPA pilot demonstration zone in Nansha. The seminar was Nansha's first promotion event for the zone in Macao this year.
At the seminar, officials from the Nansha Development and Reform Bureau, Duty-Free Port Administration, and Planning Bureau briefed representatives from Macao's business community on the district's socio-economic development. And Chen Mingde, vice mayor of Guangzhou and vice director of the Nansha Development Zone Administrative Committee, responded to questions from the representatives of Macao's business community.
Guangzhou and Macao are about to embark upon joint development of the Nansha International Healthcare City, Cruise Wharf and Yacht Club Projects. The two cities will join hands to build an Africa-oriented international center for commerce and trade and the Nansha International TV and Film City Project.
According to Nansha district officials, within the framework of the CEPA pilot demonstration zone, customs authorities in Guangzhou and Macao will progressively build an information system for inbound and outbound passengers, streamline border inspection procedures, and provide automated customs clearance service in Nansha.
Macao residents in the CEPA pilot demonstration zone will be given the same treatment as Nansha residents in terms of residency, education, culture, and public health services. Both cities will also set out to build a system which will enable patients in both cities to transfer to each other's hospitals, and the two cities will eventually recognize each other's paint diagnosis and integrate their medical insurance systems.
