Guangdong Party Secretary Wang Yang stressed the regional balanced development of Guangdong province at the Provincial People's Congress in Guangzhou on January 23, adding it is an important element of building a "Happy Guangdong".
The imbalanced development would make people feel unhappy, said Wang Yang. The gap between the wealthy and the poor is obvious in Guangdong, making it necessary to accelerate the economic transformation and upgrading.
To solve the problem, Wang said Guangdong should strengthen infrastructure construction and expand public facilities. The development of different regions should also be supported by industries according to their own regional characteristics.
