Tianhe Flower Fair

Haizhu Flower Fair

Flower fairs opened at 8:30 AM on January 31st in the six central districts of Guangzhou, and like previous years, they will run through 2 AM on the lunar New Year's Day (Feb 3). After the flower fairs, visitors will be treated to flower exhibitions in the districts, which will run from February 1 through the Lantern Festival (Feb 17).

This year, ten flower fairs will be staged in nine districts. Flower fairs in Yuexiu, Liwan, Haizhu, Tianhe, Huangpu and Baiyun districts will run three days from 8:30 AM on January 31 to 2 AM on February 3. They are expected to attract more than 4 million visitors.

According to Wang Guoru, director of the Guangzhou Forestry and Gardens Administration, the flower exhibitions represent another major step after the Asian Games for Guangzhou to build a flower city characterized by "one belt of flowers, five kilometers of flower causeways, 100 flower corridors, and flowers throughout the city". The primary venue of the flower exhibitions is located at Haixinsha, with secondary venues in Yuexiu, Haizhu, Liwan, Tianhe, Baiyun and Huangpu districts. Other districts and county-level cities will also host local flower exhibitions.

Visitors to the Haixinsha Park are required, as usual, to buy an admission ticket (priced at 20 RMB for daytime visit and 30 RMB for nighttime visit). Flower exhibitions elsewhere are free. More than 1 million pots of flowers will be on display in the central districts.
